Take Me for Me

Published by at 4:26 pm under Poetry

I don’t care how others perceive me
they see me how they wish to see me –

but believe me –

I brush away these kinds of people.
I’m down with my figure – never frown at such shivers
that are delivered from people less quicker than me.
Although my proportion may exceed in some parts –
my face is pretty and I’m witty at heart.
Don’t start with me – my mind is unable to compare to thee.
I am so much more than you will ever see,
or ever have the capability to be.

I am a writer, an actor, a photographer, a model, a singer, a dancer, an athlete, a lover, a fighter, wise, strong, brave, independent – everything that you aren’t, so don’t start with me.
I have the ability to kill you with looks,
make you cry with words,
hook you til’ you’re shook,
make you feel absurd,
have you took by me,
while you stand next to me,
showing you my world that you can’t defeat.
You can’t compete –
you don’t even meet me in between –
you are merely nothing.
